Who am I, really?
|
In the “occupation” box there really should be an option for “all of the above.” Isn’t that what wives and moms do? Among other things, I’m a chef, seamstress, nurse, taxi driver, psychologist, teacher, even taxidermist. Really! I’ve stuffed a Thanksgiving turkey. Isn’t that taxidermy? I love Jesus, my husband, my kids, handmade things, wildflowers, simplicity, healthy eating, going to church, strawberries, houseplants, people, sunrises, the southwest, bluebells, the mountains, the smell of the desert after the rain, the ocean, Nerds, iced tea, taking pictures, good coffee, textiles, colors, cats, reading, basset hounds, colored pencils, cookie cutters, current affairs–political and otherwise, and that’s not all. I’m interested in all sorts of things, from shallow meaningless pursuits, to the deeper important issues of life. The list is endless, really. What? You wanted something more concrete? Ok. I’m a stay at home mom, home schooler, wife of a pastor. We were pastoring overseas in Europe for fifteen years and recently returned Stateside. I live in Northern California, which is somewhere I NEVER thought I’d live…not for any reason other than I just didn’t think of it. But here I am, here we are, and I love it! LOVE. IT. I am blessed to be able to work from my home studio making all kinds of things. My signature item is my cross body bag which is 100% Everything! (Click on Bags on the main menu for more on that!) I craft and create as the mood and inspiration strike me. Every item I offer for sale is 100% unique, and 100% handmade by me. (There's that 100% thing again!) I never make the same thing twice, so any item you purchase from me will be completely one of a kind...no worries about duplicating a gift or even running into someone with the same thing, as so often happens with retail purchases. And oh yeah! Shipping is always free within the continental United States. If you are outside the US drop me a line on the "Contact Me" page and we'll work out the details. So click around, check things out, and leave me a comment! I'd love to hear from you! PS If you are STILL reading (my hat is off to you if you are), I'll tell you about the name "Cat Feet Studio." It's pretty simple, really. I have always loved the poem Fog by Carl Sandburg (read it below...it's short!) and we live in the Bay Area, which is where I'm pretty sure the fog factories for the whole world are located. It all just seemed to fit together. So there you have it! Fogby Carl Sandburg (1878-1967) The fog comes on little cat feet. It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches and then moves on.
